GEMSTONES

For the creation of gemstones our earth needs many millions of years.

Gemstones are found for the most part in regions of our earth that are difficult to access. People who search for such treasures often expose themselves to the greatest dangers and hardships in the hope of perhaps making a profitable find after all. However, if it happens now and then that one of its secrets is elicited from nature, we should be clear about what we are holding in our hands or are allowed to wear. In doing so, we will discover that every stone, whether it is processed into a piece of jewelry or left as a mineral in its original state, is unique.

Every now and then, however, nature manages to elicit one of its secrets: Amidst ancient volcanic rock and caves, we find gemstones that were created here an unimaginably long time ago.

But in their raw state, the rough stones often appear inconspicuous - only the high art of expert processing gives them their incomparable brilliance and radiance. What nature has not completed, we complete. In this way, we cut and polish each stone into an incomparable unicum in elaborate manual work.

AQUAMARIN

The name aquamarine is derived from the Latin aqua marina "sea water" and thus refers to the pale blue to blue-green or "sea-green" color of the mineral

The quality designation "Santa Maria" (after the mine of the same name in Ceará, Brazil) is given to particularly fine, deep blue aquamarines.

The blue variety of the beryl group is characterized by its high hardness grade of 7.5 to 8 and covers all shades of blue from glacial blue to a deep sea blue. The most valuable color variety is the famous deep blue Santa Maria, which gets its name from the mine of the same name in Ceará, Brazil.
